A Warm Winter Day in Our Villa Di Maria Montessori Garden – Sugar Land

This week, our children have been enjoying beautiful, unusually warm winter days in the outdoor garden at Villa Di Maria Montessori. Many noticed it felt more like spring, sparking curiosity and excitement as they explored their surroundings.

Warm weather at this time of year brings fascinating changes in nature. Plants begin to grow earlier, buds appear on trees, and some flowers start to bloom. The soil dries faster, and insects become more active. These small changes create wonderful opportunities for hands-on learning, allowing children to see firsthand how weather shapes the world around them.

Outdoor experiences are an essential part of Montessori education. Children observe plants, feel the sunshine, and explore freely, nurturing curiosity, independence, and a love for learning. These real-world experiences also support both academic skills and social-emotional growth.

As the week comes to a close, we are grateful for these special moments — watching our children grow, explore, and connect with nature right here in our Montessori garden in Sugar Land.
