The Montessori Toddler Program

Building a Strong Foundation for Lifelong Learning

During the first 3 years of life, your child undergoes rapid development, absorbing vast amounts of information through observation and experience. This foundational period significantly impacts future learning abilities—ensuring a robust start enables greater educational growth.  The Montessori Toddler program at Villa Di Maria Montessori is designed around each child’s unique skills and interests. Through daily observations, our teachers introduce engaging materials and activities that ignite curiosity and foster learning. Key developmental goals include language acquisition, concentration, problem-solving, visual discrimination, and physical coordination.

Our programs emphasize daily routines that cultivate independence, order, coordination, and concentration, supporting holistic development across social, emotional, physical, and cognitive domains. Activities include:

  • Self-care: Encouraging independence in personal hygiene and daily tasks like washing, dressing, and eating.
  • Environment care: Engaging children in cleaning, food preparation, plant care, and animal care.
  • Physical activities: Promoting large-motor skills through activities both indoors and outdoors.
  • Fine-motor skills: Enhancing abilities such as grasping, using tools, and artistic expression.
  • Language development: Stimulating language skills through naming, describing, conversations, music, and singing.
  • Social skills: Nurturing manners and social interaction through peer and adult-led group activities.
